Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
